In accordance with its commitment to the society that supports its endeavours as a corporation, Panasonic Australia is proud of its activities in the areas of environment, education and community.
"Most recently”, says Steve Rust, Managing Director of Panasonic Australia, “we have fulfilled key initiatives in support of the communities affected by the 2009 bush fire disaster in Victoria. In addition, the Kid Witness News programme has, in its seventh year, supported children in 63 schools nationwide.
We are also proud to support the Olympic movement, with its ideals of bringing people together in the brotherhood of shared sporting achievement. We also assisted Jessica Watson in her quest to sail solo, unassisted and non-stop, around the world.
We continue to support the business community through the Telstra Business Awards and we are involved in a range of environmental programmes including a partnership with the Australian Museum. This programme conducts research into the impact of climate change on the natural environment and develops strategies to overcome negative impacts. Most recently we entered into a partnership with Macquarie University to fund environmental research and public education as part of a new Eco programme developed by the university.”
