With a versatile 25mm ultra-wide angle lens, boasting a powerful 10x optical zoom*, the DMC-SZ7 is able to offer exceptional optical performance. Intelligent Zoom even extends the 10x optical zoom to 20x digital equivalent, incorporating our Intelligent Resolution technology to maintain picture quality. The Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens system is comprised of nine elements in seven groups, including four aspherical lenses with six aspherical surfaces. This slim, compact lens unit offers a fantastic zoom range from ultra-wide to telephoto and ensures stunning clarity with minimum distortion or flare.

Create gorgeous video with Full-HD recording
This tiny camera packs a big punch when it comes to video recording ability, offering Full-HD recording in AVCHD format* or shooting in MP4. A separate button on the top of the camera allows you to instantly start recording videos while shooting photos without having to make any extra settings - and you can use the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode while filming. For highly realistic audio, you have the benefit of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, as well as a noise reduction feature to suppress the mechanical zoom noise and the outstanding Wind Cut function. Photos or videos recorded in AVCHD on SD Memory Cards are easy to view on a Panasonic VIErA TV by simply inserting the card into the VIErA Image Viewer (SD Memory Card slot) on VIErA TV or Blu-ray Disc Player, Recorder or by using mini HDMI cable to play back your video or photographic contents.
