8th Generation Plasma Panel
This provides clear, vivid display of the video signal after processing by the VIERA Colour Management System to create gradation equivalent to 8.6 billion colours. The result is deep, rich blacks and beautiful, sharp images with vivid colour even when viewing in bright light.
The new G8 Plasma Panel uses a highly efficient discharge gas that illuminates at lower electric power levels, raising maximum brightness by about 10% (SD Panel: 20%) compared with previous models. VIERA now brings remarkably bright pictures with outstanding contrast.
Sub-Pixel Control
The Sub-Pixel Controller reduces jagged or blurred diagonal lines and produces smoother edges. Unlike conventional systems in which the three RGB colours are processed together, this advanced system processes each colour separately for crisper, more natural-looking images.
Smart sound speaker system
This superb system brings together technologies created specifically for televisions and hi-fi sound technologies, The compact, ultra-slim speakers - just 16mm wide - deliver the transparent high-frequency sound that define truly superior audio. Bringing the speaker units closer to the front than in previous modles also enhances their acoustic clarity. The rounded left and right woofer units are separately driven to produce a rich, robust bass. Despite their small size, these units fill the room with deep, well-balanced bass sounds.
SD / PC Card Slots
SD and PC slots on the front panel make it easy to view still images from a digital camera (or other memory card-equipped device) on VIERA's large, beautiful screen.
PC Input
Equipped with a PC (RGB) signal input terminal, VIERA can connect with a personal computer and serve as a large-screen monitor for surfing the internet. The D-sub 15-pin RGB ternial is set right on the front panel for easy connection of a laptop PC.
