Features & Benefits

6 Megapixel Effective Camera

O.I.S.- Lens For DMC-FX8
For any high quality image resolution, you can get more out of 6 Megapixel with the stylish, compact DMC-FX01

Bright F2.8, Wide-Angle 28mm* LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT Lens

The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens on the FX01 employs an extra high refractive index aspherical lens that makes it possible to incorporate a wide 28mm zoom into its compact body. Spanning all the way from 28mm to 102mm (35mm equivalent), this lens lets you capture everything from sweeping landscapes to shots with deep rows of skyscrapers. The Extra Optical Zoom function, which magnifies the image with minimal deterioration by using the center part of the high-resolution CCD, boosts the zoom power to a maximum 5x**.

*35mm equivalent at wide-angle. ** Varies depending on the selected image size and aspect ratio.

Mega Optical Image Stabiliser

Jitter from shaky hands is far and away the biggest single cause of blurry shots. Panasonic's advanced Mega Optical Image Stabiliser technology takes out the shake, compensating for any slightest human movement, to achieve the highest possible image quality picture

Venus Engine Plus - Up to 320 Shots On a Single Charge

Thanks to the energy-saving Venus Engine Plus and a long-lasting battery, the FX01 takes up to 320* shots on a single battery charge - about 18% more than the FX9.

*Based on CIPA. Battery charge time is affected by storage and usage conditions. Also, a longer shooting interval reduces the number of photos that can be taken between battery charges.

High Sensitivity Mode- Helps Prevent Motion Blur*

This mode helps suppress motion blur by automatically setting the ISO sensitivity up to 1600, which increases the shutter speed. It also lets you take clearer, sharper shots of moving subjects like children or pets in dim lighting without using a flash. The picture quality is good enough for printing at the ordinary 4" x 6" (10 x 15 cm) size.

*When using High Sensitivity mode, resolution significantly decreases.

A Large, Bright 2.5" High-Resolution LCD with High Angle Mode

The FX01 features a 207K-pixel LCD which is clear, bright and easy to see even in low lighting by using the pixel-mixed readout method. If it's difficult to
see the display on a sunny day, press the Power LCD button to boost the backlighting by about 40%. The world's first* developed High-Angle shooting
function also provides easier viewing when you're holding the camera high to shoot over the heads of people in front of you.

* As of January 4th, 2006

Quick Response and Comfortable Shooting

The FX01 starts up in just 1.6 seconds - about 20% shorter than the FX9, has a release time lag as low as 0.005 seconds*, and can fire off up to 8 consecutive shots at 3 frames per second in Standard mode. It also has Unlimited Consecutive Shooting**, so you can keep shooting until the SD Memory Card is full. Furthermore, the 1-point high-speed AF is as fast as the FX9 to achieve outstanding focusing with speed and precision. You can shoot quickly, easily and accurately every time.

*Not including auto-focusing time. **The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card.
