3CCD Camera System (800k x 3)
The same system that is used in professional broadcast cameras can produce high quality pictures for you. Because the CCD (Charged Couple Device) is a key device for image quality, all professional video cameras use a 3CCD system. In this system, a prism splits the incident light into its three primary colours (red, green and blue) and each resultant colour signal is collected by a seperate CCD. The 3CCD system reproduces colours with exceptional fidelity and captures even subtle gradations.
2.32 Megapixel Still Picture Recording
You can take breathtaking stills, too. Quad-Density Pixel Distribution, a technology used in broadcasting, makes it possible to capture still pictures with superb megapixel quality. The tiny 2.5-micron intervals between pixels are shifted by one-half pitch both vertically and horizontally, which distributes them on the CCD with four times the density of previous systems. This lets the GS200 - the world's smallest 3CCD video camera - capture still pictures with 2.3-megapixel quality.
10x Optical Zoom
The 10x optical zoom combined with the easy to use variable speed zoom control gives the video maker great artisitic control to frame the shot they are looking for.
Wide Opening LCD
For easy viewing and operation the LCD monitor opens a full 120 degrees. This makes it much easier to show your friends the cool shots you've taken or to access the control buttons on the side of the camera.
Direct Mode Dial
Choose the mode you want with quick fingertip operation. Easy-to-understand icons indicate the modes for both tape and card recording and playback. Just rotate the dial with your fingertip to select the icon that corresponds to the mode you want.
Progressive Photoshot.
No more fuzzy video stills. Progressive Photoshot captures the image and temporarily stores it into two seperate field memories. The two images of the exact same moment are then combined with no time lag, eliminating the need for simulations.
Soft Skin Detail
Give your subjects smoother complexions. This function detects skin tones and softens the focus in those areas, making complexions look more attractive. Wrinkles and lines seem to disappear.
Tele Macro Mode
Takes close ups down to extremely short distances. Just press a button and you're ready to shoot macro close-ups of subjects a mere 40cm from the lens. The subject will have a clear, sharp focus, while the background focus is muted.
Video & Still Picture (VGA) Simultaneous Recording
Shoot still pictures while shooting moving pictures - without even switching modes. When you see a great scene, you can snap it - even while you're shooting video.
Consecutive Photoshot
Take a fast sequence of stills at half-second intervals (approx.). Press and hold the Photoshot button, and the camera can snap up to 10 still pictures (VGA) on the SD card in rapid sequence.
Colour Night View with Light Panel
Capture crisp, vivid images, even in low lighting. Leave the light off. Colour Night View gives you images with colour even in dim lighting (1 Lux). By using the LCD as a light panel, you can also record colour images in total darkness (0 Lux).
2.5' 'Power LCD' Monitor
Clear to see - even outdoors. Simply press a Power LCD button and the LCD becomes brighter, making it easier to see outdoors or in other bright locations. Also, a new scanning technology allows the LCD to show diagonal lines more sharply.
